Where and when will the virtual walk be held?

Virtual Walk will be held from 1 October 2020 until 30 November 2020, 2359hrs. It is a virtual event and can be done anywhere at your own convenience but do remember to adhere to the Government’s safe distancing guidelines.

Is there a time limit for the walk?

There is no set time limit to complete your walk. As long as you complete your 5,000 steps within a day by 30 November your walk data will be accepted, and you will have completed the challenge.

How do I register for the event?

You can either register using your Facebook account or create a new user account on the website. Click here to register.

How much are the registration fees?

Registration fees range from $10 for children and $25 for adults. Group packages are also available for friends, families, and colleagues to participate together. Click here to find out more.

Will I get a refund if I wish to withdraw from the race?

There will be no refunds. All proceeds from the event will support the programmes and services Children’s Society runs for the beneficiaries under our care.

I am not staying in Singapore but I would like to participate in this Walk. Can I participate?

Yes, you can participate in this challenge. For the care pack, you can fill out a form to authorise someone in Singapore to collect on your behalf. Please email us at kjtay@childrensociety.org.sg

Can I make changes to my personal particulars after registration?

Yes, you can edit your personal particulars by logging into your account.

Will I be able to get any tax rebate for my donation?

Cash donations are eligible for tax deduction and your full NRIC number will be required for tax deduction. Please note that registration fees are non-tax deductible. Click here for cash donation. Cash donations qualify for 2.5 times tax deduction.

Do I need to keep the browser running in the background while I’m doing the walk?

Yes. The event website will capture your end point and pin on the Singapore map. This geo-mapping feature will show where all our participants have done their walks in Singapore and you will need to enable the location feature in your mobile device for this. Alternatively you can also log in to your account only after you’ve completed your walk to upload your stepcount screenshot and the geo-mapping feature will capture the position you are in when doing the upload.

How do I track my walk for submission?

All GPS-based apps, health apps, step trackers, smart watches and indoor treadmills are accepted. Please only submit your own data to us via a screenshot or a photo.

Can I choose to complete the walk or run indoors?

Yes, absolutely. With the current safe distancing measures in place, this is a viable option! If you are running on your treadmill, just take a screenshot of the distance covered and submit your data to us. Data clocked on other devices while indoors can be submitted in the same way. (5,000 steps = 3.8km)

How do I submit the walk result for my children if they do not have mobile phone or tracker?

Parents can submit the same screenshot for their children if they are walking together. Alternatively, parents can tag a pedometer to their children and submit the snapshot of the pedometer.

If I take the family bundle or friend combo, does it mean I have 4 accounts?

Please key in the email addresses of your 3 other participating friends when you are checking out. Their account will be created and the details will be sent to these emails.

How many times can I play the mini games in a day?

You can play up to 5 times per day to get yourself ahead in the games leaderboard to win attractive prizes!

Who can I contact if I have issues with my submission or need assistance?

What is the Step Booster Challenge?

Step Booster Challenge is a platform to rally your colleagues, friends and family to support your personal fitness goal (e.g. 20,000 steps daily for 2 weeks) through a donation. Companies too can start an online crowdfunding campaign on this platform. I want to help but unable to participate in this event. What else can I do?

You can still contribute by making an outright donation. Click here for cash donation.

When and how can I collect my carepack?

Carepack collection will be in November and all participants will receive email update on collection details by end October.

How can I refer my friends to take part in the Walk?

Registered participants need to refer two friends to sign up in order to stand a chance to win a $10 NTUC voucher (while stocks last). When these friends register, they need to provide your name & order number as well as enter the code ‘2FRIENDS’ at the checkout page. When two of your friends have successfully signed up, we will notify you if you have won the voucher. You can contact us at helpdesk@intoe.com.sg for further assistance on the referral process.
